README for CoosBay_rivers.mat

This file contains discharge and temperature time series from select rivers entering the Coos estuary. It is built from data provided by the Coos Watershed Association. For some of the smaller rivers (e.g., Winchester Creek), the time series of discharge are created from correlations during periods when they were gauged at the same time as the larger sources of freshwater (e.g., SF Coos, WF Millicoma). 

For temperature, this is a seasonal cycle constructed from all available river temperature data. There is no difference between years or rivers. 

Variables:
time_datenum = time in MATLAB datenum format, covering water years from Oct 2002 to Sept 2014. 

riverQ = discharge (time vs. river #) in m3/s. One value per day. 

rivertemp = temperature (time vs. river #) in C. Seasonal climatology. 

rivernames = names of rivers used, correspond to river #
